Over 300 Shikellamy parents and their children enjoyed Shikellamy’s fall Title I night. Title I is a federally funded program which provides services to schools based on student economic needs. Title I is the largest Federal Assistance Program for our nation’s schools. Shikellamy’s goal is provide a high-quality education for every child. Title I funding provides extra help to students who need it most based on assessment data.
Students and their parents were given an over-view on Title I at Shikellamy. ZooAmerica presented native animals from Pennsylvania including a Peregrine falcon, a black snake, a great horned owl, a skunk, and a porcupine. Families enjoyed pizza and every student left the evening with a Zoo Book and a stuffed animal.

Creatures of the Night, our fall 2016 Title I night, was a huge success! We had over 200 Title I students and their families enjoy a visit of nocturnal animals from Zoo America. Every student left with a new book and a little stuffed bat.
Eben, DaNel, Mindy and Christian Kisner enjoy reading by “campfire” during the 2017 Spring Title I Parent Night.
